a beautiful mind

We watched the movie A Beautiful Mind and it was about a schizophrenic man named John Nash who saw imaginary things. He saw three imaginary people and it impacted him in great ways. A government agent was one of the three people and he tells John to do certain things. Charles was his roommate and he always is trying to help John do the right thing. Marcee was his niece and she is always around giving him hugs and stuff. These people are only people that John can see and he interacts with them in public as if they are real. So when actual real people around him at the school see him talking to these imaginary poeple, they think he is absolutely crazy. The movie was interesting because it makes you think what it would be like to suffer from something like this and have multiple imaginary people telling you how to live your life. It caused great stress on John and went against his great ability to solve and create these crazy equations that were shown throughout the entire movie. That's about all. Outskies for now!!!

operant conditioning

I run track and cross country. Practice is Monday - Friday after school till about 4:45 ish. The school year begins with cross country practice every single day after school at 3:00. Track begins in March, and practice is every single day after school at 3:00. There is about 9 full months of school and about 5 of those months, I have practice every day after school at 3:00. The remaining 4 months are November thru February. Once cross country ended, we didn't have practice after school anymore, but I still found myself headed towards the locker rooms after school out of habit. (this is my junior year) I wound up running by myself that day, at 3:00, after school, then lifting weights till about 4:45. I found myself doing this every day out of the habit of having practice every day at 3:00. My behavior is running at 3:00 even though practice is no longer in session. My reward was feeling in good shape and knowing it would turn into good times on the track. This is a positive reinforcement model because I was finding positive rewards such as being in good shape and gaining weight from lifting weights. It is a fixed interval schedule because it is Monday - Friday at 3:00 till 4:45 every time and ONLY during the winter. This is a bit like Mr. Dreier's example. Except mine is better! If you've read this far into my post Mr. Dreier, I would like to let you know that my blog entry that is titled "brain disorders" well that is the post that is shown missing in my powerschool. I posted it late, so take some points off if you'd like. Also I am posting this at 12:12 A.M. so I will be very tired in class on Friday and most likely fail the test. "outskies for now!!!"
